School Visit
Visiting and supporting our local schools
When we were planning Roving Bushtops, we were keen to maintain the precedent set by our two existing camps, Mara Bushtops and Serengeti Bushtops: forming partnerships with local schools. As soon as we secured our fabulous main location in Seronera we created links to local Robanda primary and secondary schools. This lets us support the education of local children and their communities, through a combination of sponsorships, donations and shared activities.
Many of our guests like to tour the school, with a teacher introducing them to the pupils and facilities. Each visit is an education in itself!
We can usually arrange visits when Roving Bushtops is based in the Central Serengeti (but not when we are on the move, or during school holidays). If you would like to make this part of your stay, do let us know in advance: the authorities insist on park fees being paid every time we leave and re-enter, so we need to get the scheduling right to avoid unnecessary charges.
The schools lie just beyond Ikoma Gate on the western edge of the Serengeti National Park, so there is a drive of around 75 minutes each way. Think of this as yet another chance to experience the wonders of the Serengeti and its people, flora and fauna!
- A two and a half hour round trip
- Each visit lasts between 45 minutes and an hour
- It is really helpful to know in advance that you’d like to visit
