Coming to Bushtops is coming home.

Every one of us owes our origins to the East African plains.

This is where our ancestors emerged from the rocks and grasslands which surround Bushtops camps, to gather around fires and tell stories.

Reconnecting with our origins is one of the most powerful effects of visiting our camps. By immersing ourselves in this unspoiled world, seeing wildlife vibrant and free, we retune to our primal impulses, developed as we fought or fled through grasslands hundreds of thousands of years ago.

By helping us reconnect to the universal human story, Bushtops ignites an adventure into ourselves, our past and our future.

Storytime in the Bush

Together with experts in the field, we have compiled stories and anecdotes about the early steps of humanity across the Kenyan and Tanzanian grasslands.

By sharing these insights, our rangers bring a wealth of anthropological ‘Did You Know?’ facts to our camp fires, game drives and walks. Each storyline illuminates prehistory and our origins, inspiring reconnections with our shared human heritage – where it all began.
