School Visit
Visiting and supporting our local schools
When we were planning Roving Bushtops, we were keen to maintain the precedent set by our two existing camps, Mara Bushtops and Serengeti Bushtops: forming partnerships with local schools. The latter has long and strong links with local Bisalalah primary and secondary schools, which have only been strengthened by our Roving Bushtops base in the Northern Serengeti. Both camps help us and our visitors support the education of local children and their communities, through a combination of practical assistance, donations and shared activities.
Many of our guests like to tour the school, with a teacher introducing them to the pupils and facilities. Each visit is an education in itself!
We can arrange visits when Roving Bushtops is based in its northern Serengeti home. If you would like to make this part of your stay, do let us know in advance: the authorities insist on park fees being paid every time we leave and re-enter, so we need to get the scheduling right to avoid unnecessary charges.
The schools lie just beyond Ikoma Gate on the western edge of the Serengeti National Park, so there is a drive of 90 minutes each way. Think of this as yet another chance to experience the wonders of the Serengeti and its people, flora and fauna!

- Each visit lasts between 45 minutes and an hour
