"The most luxurious safari tent in the world"
"At Roving Bushtops you feel blissfully out of the lodge and under canvas, yet want for nothing. It's the safari unplugged, but totally switched on"

Roving explained
The wonderful thing about Roving Bushtops is that it enables us to set up camp in the part of the vast Serengeti plains best suited to changing conditions, migration patterns and the best game viewing opportunities. We move between two locations in any year (see Game Drives) giving us access to the unimaginably vast 10,000 square mile (15,000 square kilometre) Serengeti ecosystem, of which almost two thirds forms the national park.
Our Rovers
Each of our tents is packed into an extraordinary, utterly unique mobile unit we call the Rover – hence the name Roving Bushtops. We conceived, designed and created the revolutionary format ourselves, introducing something genuinely innovative to African safaris, and indeed the world. The short video shows the action unfolding – literally!
Accommodation
Wondrous comfort – on Wheels
Small is beautiful.
Our smallest destination has just eight tents, but maintains the exceptional standards set by all Bushtops camps. Each of our unique wheeled tents provides exclusive comfort and a haven of peace at the heart of your Serengeti adventure. Pinch yourself, to confirm you’ve truly reconnected – to paradise!
Dining
Eat, drink & be merry
You might imagine that being in the heart of the African Bush makes it impossible to enjoy haute cuisine or sophisticated wines. If so, do think again – and read on!
Behind the Scenes
Every time we move, we invite the winner of a Roving Bushtops social media contest to join our camp migration. Our video shows Sascha from Germany, who won the contest in 2019, joining the team as we moved south to our Kusini location. It was a muddy trip!

"Ingeniously mobile, a remarkable design that folds into itself—lock, stock, and bathtub—like a magician’s trunk"
