Wild Luxury Photography

On Safari with Don Wales

Everyone takes photos on safari. Almost always, you can tell the professional from the amateur. Here is your chance to take pictures like the former, recording your memories in stunning style.

This opportunity creates a triple reason to join us on a wild luxury Bushtops safari. You get to experience the wild wonders of nature, enjoy luxury in the splendor of our camp, whilst honing your photographic talents in the company of an expert. Not just any expert though…

Master of his Craft

Don has been a professional photographer since leaving school at the age of 17. He has worked in most disciplines of the business covering Industrial, Advertising, Still Life, Corporate, Public Relations, Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle and Travel. Don brings a wealth of photography experience to Bushtops along with a sense of humour and long stories!

He has seen The Bushtops camps grow from their very beginnings, photographing Mara Bushtops whilst it was being built. Frequent trips have kept the photographic library updated.

Whilst out on safari, working with the Bushtops spotters and trackers, Don will ensure that you get the best out of your equipment and hopefully give you fresh ideas on your approach to photography. Followed in the evening by a relaxed discussion of the day’s shooting.

Don is also the grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE, the famous record breaker from the 1930’s and the nephew of Donald Campbell CBE. Don has broken records from the grass roots of the sport, from a ride on lawn mower to the World record for a car powered by Steam. He is currently planning a new World record attempt for an Electric car!

Alongside your wildlife guide and native spotter, Don will escort you every day, offering general and personal advice and constructive criticism.
