On safari with Peter
Whether you call yourself a birdwatcher, twitcher or simply a lover of nature, exploring untamed Africa in the company of Peter Wairasho will make an indelible impression.
The only thing missing is the opportunity to be pampered and treated like visiting royalty: we add this back at your Mara Bushtops base.
This glorious combination of luxury, safari, birding and adventure takes place in the Masai Mara between November and March, to ensure we take full advantage of flocks’ annual migration to East Africa.
Our ‘wild luxury for birdwatchers’ expeditions follow the same itineraries as family groups, but with our ornithologically-minded guests travelling and taking part as a group.
When back at camp, you are of course free to dine together, sharing stories of the day’s winged wonders, or spend time alone, as you prefer.
Co-author of ‘Being a Bird’, Peter Wairasho is an authority on birds and their habitat. He can tell you the unique characteristics and behaviours of more than a thousand indigenous and migratory species, from the purple heron and hammerkop to the comb duck and African fish-eagle. What’s more he can do it in English or Kikuyu, Swahili or Japanese.
A member of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association, Peter looks forward to sharing fascinating insights into Kenya’s bird life – in the air, on the ground, afloat and out of sight.
If this sounds like the perfect way to make the most of your safari holiday, pack your binoculars and book your place in birding paradise.
