In this example we start at Mara Bushtops and conclude at Serengeti Bushtops, but the order can be reversed. Essentially the itinerary for the two camps (which are just 60 kilometres apart) combines the highlights of any short visit to either. You can extend your stay in one or the other, perhaps to take advantage of the Spa at Mara Bushtops, or spend longer in the location offering the best wildlife viewing for the time of year.

After your short drive from the airstrip to Mara Bushtops, a leisurely lunch is followed by time settling into your new surroundings. Favourite activities include marvelling at the animals visiting our salt lick, going for a swim, or enjoying the facilities within our Amani African Spa village: nothing beats easing into blissful silence under the strong fingers of a masseuse. Then comes a late afternoon drive around the private Conservancy which surrounds the camp, and a sundowner. If you then want to unveil a whole new world of nature, a night drive before dinner reveals the Bush as few have seen it.
Your second day is filled by a game drive, which runs from after breakfast to early evening. Lunch is enjoyed within the wide expanses of the Mara Reserve, literally in the midst of the Bush. As you head for home, your driver will ring ahead to ensure you are welcomed to your tent by a bubbling hot tub and your favourite drinks. Then comes dinner and the realisation that you have left the cares of the world behind you.
On day three, you rise early, in darkness, to catch the sunrise. This might see you watch early-morning game activity in the Mara, or enjoy a walking safari and Bush breakfast in our Conservancy. In the afternoon, you might decide to read or take a swim in our infinity pool, or perhaps visit a Masai village. An evening game drive around the Conservancy sets the seal on another perfect day.
Day four is one of transition. You can prepare by lying in, or looking down on the herds from above. If you choose the latter (you will need to have pre-booked), your early morning balloon safari takes you through to a champagne breakfast. Then comes a final transfer to your short flight to Migori. Here, you are driven across the border at Isabenia to the Tarime airstrip from where you fly to Kogatende. We relay you through game-filled vistas to Serengeti Bushtops – and an evening of dinner and leisure.
As you awake on day five, you will find the winning formula of Mara Bushtops mirrored at our sister camp. Only the terrain has changed, evidenced by the panoramic view from your verandah. A hearty breakfast leads to a full day’s exploration of your new surroundings. Once again, this all-day game drive is broken by a buffet lunch, this time in the heart of the Serengeti. And just as before, we radio ahead so your return to your new home features a soothing dip in your newly-filled, private hot tub – accompanied by your favourite aperitif.
On day six you rise early to maximise your chances of seeing abundant game along the Mara River, where you enjoy a Bush breakfast. When you return to camp before midday, you have ample time to relax, maybe lunching in your tent before spending the afternoon in the spa. The animals are waiting, however, so a late afternoon walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger strikes a perfect balance, concluding with a highly civilised sundowner.
Day seven brings the realisation that you are about to leave paradise. It includes your final game drive, as you head back to Kogatende, your next destination – and (we hope) to start planning your next visit!
