Let's go!

Exploring the Mara

Every day in the Masai Mara is a thrilling adventure into the unknown. How many of the big five will you see? You’re almost certain to spot lions, buffalo and elephants, often in great numbers, though leopards and rhino can be shy. We do all in our power to seek them out, as the sheer range of less anticipated flora and fauna takes your breath away. Keep your eyes open and let the adventure begin …

Wildebeest Migration

The greatest show on earth

Every year, our camps bear witness to one of the wonders of the natural world: the great migration. Thundering herds of wildebeest and zebra take an 800km journey in search of pastures new, dodging river crocodiles and land predators as they cross from the Serengeti into the Mara, then back again.

Following the herds is an extraordinary highlight on any African adventure. If you can’t be there, follow the migration’s progress via the Bushtops blog.

  • Mara migration usually June-October
  • More than 1.5 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra
  • Herds of antelope (and multiple predators) in attendance
  • Dramatic river crossings in both directions
